A COGNITIVE COACHING CENTRE, ADSAPIENS, THE SWEDISH CENTRE FOR WORK BASED LEARNING, IS LAUNCHED IN GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN

adSapiens,  the Swedish Centre for Work Based Learning, a newly opened cognitive coaching centre in Gothenburg,  had a launch party on the 8th of February at Skeppsbron 5-6.  The company will develop and promote the use of cognitive psychological coaching in Sweden .  At the launch Professor Stephen Palmer PhD, one of the founders of coaching psychology in the UK, gave a talk on Cognitive coaching in the business world.

Coaching is becoming increasingly popular and companies are providing it to employees in order to promote personal development and improve performance.  Many different forms of coaching exist with a number of more and less serious providers on the Swedish market.  Indeed, there is a lack of coaching based on cognitive theories and techniques.  adSapiens is aiming to fill this gap and is promoting cognitive psychological coaching that is based on psychological theories and research.  The coaching can be aimed at individual, group, and organisational levels.  It can be helpful in dealing with different issues including the prevention of stress, improving performance, and dealing with procrastination.

In addition, adSapiens will provide modular training courses in coaching from basic 2-day courses up to a 3-semester course in cognitive coaching.

Professor Stephen Palmer said, ' This is an exciting period in the development of personal and executive coaching. adSapiens will be offering cognitive coaching which is underpinned by current research and it helps clients to enhance performance and well-being'.
