Faculty of Coaching Psychology

The International Academy for Professional Development is a coaching psychology training provider. It has a Centre and Faculty of Coaching Psychology which focuses on the training and supervision of psychologists who wish to work towards international accreditation as International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP) Accredited/Certified Coaching Psychologists through its IPD or CPD process. The Society recognises specific programmes run by the Centre and Faculty. The Centre is an International Society for Coaching Psychology Approved Centre. Whereas the Centre for Coaching's training division focuses on running accredited, approved and recognised coaching programmes and workshops suitable for coaches, managers, trainers, psychologists, health and HR professionals.

Currently in 2022 we are going through a transitionary stage as the Faculty will be working closely with the National Academy of Coaching Psychology to provide a new suite of programmes supporting psychologists wishing to progress down a chartership and/or accreditation pathway. This pathway will also provide eligibility to Associate or Full membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management (TILM).

The Faculty's staff are Chartered Psychologists who teach and supervise on the Centre's Recognised and approved Programmes. Diploma in Coaching Psychology Programme. Qualified psychologists at the Faculty include Professor Stephen Palmer PhD FISCP Accred, Dr Siobhain O'Riordan PhD CPsychol FISCP Accred, Nick Edgerton CPsychol and Kasia Szymanska CPsychol MISCP Accred. Both Stephen and Siobhain are also ISCP Accredited Coaching Psychologist Supervisors and BPS Chartered Coaching Psychologists.

Psychologists who wish to increase their knowledge of coaching psychology and/or become ISCP Accredited Coaching Psychologists may benefit from training and input from our qualified coaching psychology trainers who have been actively involved in the development of coaching psychology in the UK and beyond, with their professional body work, research, editing of publications and authoring articles, chapters and books.
